Statement Of Philosophy

Columbia Heights Preschool is an outreach of Columbia Heights United Methodist Church. Our preschool welcomes families of all diversity, faiths, creeds, and ethnic origins. While we are an outreach of the church, the preschool does not contain religious instruction specific to any one faith. Our program promotes respect for all individuals.

Our goal is to provide high quality education in a developmentally appropriate, play-based environment. Classroom experiences are scaffolded by the teachers and are implemented through hands on learning. We strive to enhance social, emotional, physical and cognitive growth in our students. The teachers at Columbia Heights Preschool believe that all children have a right to a nurturing, safe, and positive environment that will promote their desire to learn.
