Welcome to Columbia Heights Preschool!
Columbia Heights Preschool is presently located at 775 Galloway Road, Galloway, Ohio (view map), and housed in Columbia Heights United Methodist Church. The ground breaking for our new Church, Sunday School, and Preschool was held on Sunday, April 3, 2006, at the new location, on the right hand side of the road (if headed south on Galloway Rd.) just past the Galloway Post Office. We moved into the new facility in September 2007 to start the 2007-08 school year.
If you have children, 3 through 5 years of age, and are looking for a quality program with 40 plus years of experience, please stop by our present facility for a visit. We will be happy to show you around.
Classes meet two, three or five times a week, offering a variety of activities to stimulate all areas of growth and development: cognitive, social-emotional, as well as large and small motor skills. Children will learn how to function in a classroom situation and obtain skills such as taking turns, following a classroom routine, getting along with others, and taking direction from someone other than parents.
Teacher-pupil ratios are low, giving children lots of individual attention from professionals with degrees who have many hours of continuing education, and boast many years of experience.
We begin registering for the coming school year in March for currently enrolled families and April 1 for the community. However, we accept children all during the school year. A printable pre-registration form is available on this web site on the Registration page. The registration fee must accompany the completed form to ensure that you will have a space in the fall.
In late summer, a Parent Orientation is held. At this time parents will pay September fees and receive a Parent Handbook as well as forms to be completed before school begins. An orientation for the children, "Meet the Teacher Day" is held the week before school to give children the opportunity to meet teachers, classmates, and see their classrooms.
If you have further questions, call Mrs. Pat Emmelhainz at 614-878-3738 or stop by to tour the facility and meet our faculty.
Looking forward to your visit!
