3-Year-Old 3-Day Class
This class offers a gentle introduction to preschool through play-based learning and hands-on exploration. Children develop early social skills, language growth, and independence while becoming comfortable with classroom routines in a warm, supportive environment.
Curriculum & Learning Standards
Our preschool uses a curriculum from the Step Up To Quality (SUTQ) approved list, ensuring it meets Ohio’s high standards for early childhood education. Lessons are intentionally planned to support each child’s developmental stage, combining hands-on exploration, purposeful play, and teacher-guided learning.
Instruction is aligned with the Ohio Early Learning and Development Standards (ELDS), which guide growth across social-emotional development, language and literacy, mathematics, physical development, and approaches to learning. This alignment helps children build strong foundational skills, confidence, and a love of learning as they prepare for future success in school.
A Typical Day
Each preschool day begins with a warm welcome as children arrive, wash hands, and settle into developmentally appropriate activities. Morning circle time brings the class together for songs, stories, discussion, and introduction of learning themes, helping children build listening skills, routines, and a sense of community.
As the day continues, children participate in gross motor activities and small group learning, followed by extended time for free play and creative exploration. Art projects, hands-on activities, and guided play support imagination, problem-solving, and social development. The day wraps up with classroom clean-up and a second circle time focused on modeled reading, early literacy skills, and reflection before dismissal.
Screenings & Assessments
As part of Step Up To Quality (SUTQ) requirements, our preschool completes developmental screenings to support each child’s growth and early identification of strengths or areas needing additional support. Families participate in this process using Sparkler, a secure, parent-friendly tool that includes the Ages & Stages Questionnaires. These screenings help ensure children are developing appropriately and allow teachers and families to work together to support learning and development.
In addition to screenings, teachers complete ongoing classroom assessments using a SUTQ-approved assessment tool, administered twice each year. These assessments help track progress across key developmental areas and guide instructional planning. Results are shared with families, providing meaningful insight into each child’s growth and supporting open communication between home and school.
